About Me

At LicensePlateCollecting.com, this isn’t just a business—it’s a personal passion that’s taken over my life in the best way.

I’m a 30-year-old collector who’s been hooked on license plates for over 10 years now. Not just the colors and designs, but the stories behind them—where they’ve been, what they’ve seen, and the history they carry. Over time, that curiosity turned into a collection, and that collection turned into a mission: to help other collectors find plates that matter to them.

I’m proud to be a member of ALPCA (the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association), and I care deeply about the community that surrounds The Hobby. This site is my way of staying connected to it— collecting, buying, selling, trading, and talking shop with fellow plate people.

I’m especially drawn to early plates—before things got standardized and uniform. I collect:

  • Early Illinois license plates
  • The hard-to-find and beautiful 1904, 1905, 1906, and 1907 Chicago city-issued plates
  • Louisiana pelican plates (as a bird biologist, I love the graphic)
  • And I’m working toward a personal goal: to collect at least one porcelain license plate from every state that ever made them, for every year they were issued

This site is a way to share that passion, to sell and trade extras from my collection, and to keep the spirit of The Hobby going strong. I built this not just for buyers, but for fellow collectors—people who know what it feels like to finally track down a long-missing plate or stumble across one you didn’t even know existed.

I’m always hunting, always learning, and always happy to talk plates. Thanks for stopping by—and whether you're filling a gap in your wall or starting your first run, I hope you find something here that makes your collector’s heart beat a little faster.
